Had this problem for a few days now, every so often my mini box loses signal and gives a message saying it cannot connect to my main sky Q box,my only "fix" is to reboot the mini box and it works fine, until the next time,Main box is wokring fine,as is internet and phone.
Anyone got any ideas why this is happening?

@golferpar who do you have your broadband with ?
So do I, and there are assorted other threads to the same effect.
Last year I had the same problem. After a lengthy discussion with a Sky advisor (I had to hunt for the phone number, the online help is useless) I refreshed the software on both boxes. Although the software version before and after seemed to be identical, this fixed the problem for a few moths. Until now.
Please note - the standard advice to reboot router and main SkyQ box is misleading. It results in only a temporary fix. Sky - you have a hardware problem that you need to take ownership of.
I agree we are seriously considering moving to virgin, we are with them for Broadband
