When I go on Netflix on my tv upstairs my sons Xbox goes down 

Netflix is through the sky q box

this does not happen when I watch ordinary bbc or itv programmes

Probably hogs too much bandwidth and the xbox starts to lag.

what speed internet connection do you have?

also tell him he should be spending more time with the family watching netflix and discussing the finer points of Mozart's 16th piano sonata because videogames are designed to release way too much dopamine and it's not good for you. 😁
