Wimbledon in 4K?

Hi there,

The announcers on the BBC state that Wimbledone matches can be watched in 4K on iPlayer. However I do not see a 4K stream on the Wimbledon page of my SkyQ box.

It is available on my TV's native iPlayer app and apparently also on Virgin Media.

Does anybody know why Sky aren't offering this on their flagship service?

Hi @chickndipp

It's because the V2 2TB Q box is not supported by BBC iPlayer in UHD. (That's the 32B1xx)

The 1 TB UHD and the V3 2 TB boxes are supported.

Re: Wimbledon in 4K?

There's no 4k Wimbledon on my 32D0B2 Q box either. The engineer who installed it a month ago omitted to inform me that I would be losing convenient access to iPlayer 4k.

--------------------
32B12C 2TB UHD Q box • Mini boxes x2 (32D0B2) • 2022 LG C2 OLED TV • Software vQ230.000.14.00L • Gigaclear gigabit FTTH broadband (935Mbps up/down) • Linksys Velop tri-band router; 3 mesh nodes • All Q boxes fully Cat6 hardwired • Q wi-fi disabled • Q picture/audio processing disabled (no sound bar) • Pixellation cured by Q170 but back again with Q190 and now every few minutes with Q210 and Q220 live broadcasts and recordings on all boxes

Re: Wimbledon in 4K?

Yes, sorry for the typo. Main box is 32B12C - which replaced an older 2TB UHD box which did deliver 4k iPlayer via the BBC TV red button. The engineer should have warned me.
