I have been having some connection problems lately with my Sky Q box losing its internet signal.
Vodafone are saying I should disconnect the Ethernet cable between my Vodafone router and Sky Q box as Sky Q runs better off WiFi.
I don't understand why this would help but does it make sense?

Simple to try but I started having issues when it was connected via WiFi, that's why I tried the Ethernet cable.
Vodafone say, "Just to clarify, the impact on your network is caused by four devices broadcasting the SSID SKYB710G. These devices are emitting a separate WiFi signal that's causing your Vodafone router's WiFi signal to be drowned out in certain areas."

If you're using ethernet, unless you have minis that need to connect to the Q, you can disable wifi on the W itself
You can also change the channel it uses
You can also use powerlines on minis if you do have them and then disable wifi on all the sky boxes.

I have two mini boxes connected to my Sky Q box over WiFi. Is it worth trying to change the channel it uses and how would I do this please?

You should be able to change it on the Voda router though if they are clashing.
And using powerlines to connect the minis is worth considering if real ethernet is impractical.
