Wifi cutting out

Noticed in the last week our wifi keeps cutting out - followed instructions to reset both rooter and skyQ box but still experiencing issues - checked our wifi connection and saying it's fine as well as in our area but still experiencing issues, do we need to update our rooter as we have had for nearly 5 years?!

Does the wifi cut out or does just the Q box lose its connection?

(it's "router" by the way, as in "something that routes data traffic to the right place")

"rooter" v "router". This should not have been mentioned as it's unhelpful and doesn't add to the conversation. Pobody is nerfect. One may not have the linguistic and/or lexicon skills as you do or Inglish may not be they're first language. Something to bear in mind fore the future. If it's understandable without needing any further clarification in regards to the question, then you're additional comment is just nasty, tbh.

Re: Wifi cutting out

It's usually both when the ROUTER goes so does the box - I wasn't sure if it was because my husband is working from home and I have been watching TV more so have left the TV off and waiting to see if this has helped as currently in meetings.

And no need to correct people's grammar nothing to do with the question!

It's not nasty, I was pointing out the background to the word and why it's spelled the way it is to help make it easier to remember.  The rest of the post was perfect English so there wasn't much suggestion of non-native English speaker or dyslexia or anything like that, just a word the OP had heard but never seen written down.

Working from home shouldn't be a problem I don't think. Could maybe be some interference from another nearby wifi, a neighbour or something. Normally the old Sky routers are the best ones to have Q connected to, the most stable and normally a router and Q reboot fixes those. Is it feasible to  try an ethernet cable between the two?
