Why is it so hard to contact SkY?

The problem is our Sky Q box won't show UHD? The bigger problem is trying to contact anyone at Sky. AI bots have taken over. Maybe no one is there now.

As @PandJ2020 indicates, the 1TB version of the main Q box issued between early 2016 and late 2019 doesn't have a UHD video chipset.

 

The revised 1TB from late 2019 onwards does do so.

Some old Q boxes were not UHD.

 

What's the hardware version?  https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-software-updates

Thanks to you both. So how do I go about getting a newer box? Do saved recordings move over to the newer box?

All calls will start automated (aka 'the bot') which may offer you the online help route or try to send you here to the forum. Stay on the line as long as possible and sometimes saying nothing when asked the reason for the call helps being put in the queue for an agent.

 I understand Sky will make a charge of £90 to swap your box for UHD one
