The Sky Q 2T box is about 5 years old. The intermitent blank screen and sound problem only developed a few weeks ago. Previously there was no issue. on an HD channel the blanck creen is usualy for 5-15 seconds each time. The problem is becoming more frequent and lasts longer each time than when we first noticed it. Obviously it has become annoying while watching TV programmes during an evening. The blank screen and sound loss are more frequent and last for 2 or 3minutes on each occasion when watching a UHD channel such as 401 or 406 on Sky Sport. UHD football is now almost impossible to watch. I also have a linked sky mini box which does not have the same concern. I have tried updating the Sky software on the boxes but this has not resolved the problem. Inputs from other sources such as an Apple TV box and Apps on the TV do not suffer the same concern. It seems to be a problem with the Sky Q 2T box only. Any ideas on how to resolve or has the Sky Q Box developed a fault that requires its replacement?

Hi @Bryan65,
If you have a spare HDMI port on your tv try and switch it to that one to see if it's a faulty port on the TV.
If that doesn't work try a different HDMI cable if you have one as there could be a damaged wire in the cable.
If this doesn't work it might be a faulty HDMI port on the box, for this you will have to get Sky to replace the box.

Thanks, @ThePope27. A good call. A simple change of cable fixed the problem of the intermittent loss of signal. All working now.
