Viewing card not paired

Hi, I have just moved house and had an engineer out to sort sky, but we can't access it, it's saying "viewing card not paired" we do r have access to internet until Friday but surely must be able to get more channels than only your basic ones

Hi @Leehano

First check that your viewing card is correctly inserted. Viewing card is in the right hand end of the box.
If it is in correctly there is not enough of it sticking out to grip and remove it.
Push it fully in and it will pop out slightly enough so you can remove it.
Make sure that it is in chip side up and chip end in first. Push it gently fully in and you should feel a slight click when it is engaged. If it has popped out enough to remove it is not located correctly.
If you are satisfied that it is in correctly
Try refreshing your Viewing card.
Home - Settings - System info.
Highlight Viewing card number and then select Setup on the right hand side.
Then select Use this option to trigger a callback

No call is actually made but the Viewing card should be refreshed.

Re: Viewing card not paired

Thank you, I've done all of these but when it says it requires a internet connection to do the call back. So at a loss really until we have internet on Friday.

Re: Viewing card not paired

It was a Typo sorry! What I'm trying to say is we can only access 3 channels but surely must be able to access more without internet!

@Leehano do you have a mobile phone that you can set a hotspot on ypu mobile phone so you can link other devices to your mobile internet data.

If you can turn the hotspot on and see if you can link your Q box to it then follow @oldfella advice

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Sky Q 2 TB (Silver)Box, 2 Mini boxes since June 2016, all connected by wifi
Sky Broadband Hub/SR203, Sky Ultrafast broadband
Ultimate on Demand, Q Experience/UHD, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema
LG 49SJ 810 V UHD TV, Google Pixel 7 Pro mobile

Re: Viewing card not paired

Yeah we have already tried that, for some reason it will only let us hotspot to the Xbox and not the tv or sky. It's ok we will have to make do until Friday 😅
