View from start no longer works

I get the dialog panel at bottom of screen when tuning in late to a progrmme to: press 'select' to view from start, then having pressed 'select', after a few seconds there's a message at the top of the screen: press 'Select' to view from start (or very similar text), I press 'Select' and nothing happens.... however if I go to 'Recordings' I can select and view from start there. This functionality used to work well  - just pressing select when the 'ready to view' message appeared. what's happened?
