Upgrading/downgrading via red button on remote control

I find it very stressful indeed phoning Sky due to the robot & the foreign call centres. I want to upgrade to Sky Sports for one month only (for the US Open Tennis, a tournament that lasts a fortnight but I know that you can't subscribe for less than a month). I can see that upgrade can be done via the red button on my remote control, what I'm asking is this: can a downgrade also be done via this way? I can't afford Sky Sports all year round.

No, you would have to announce your intent to cancel 31 days prior to your chosen date, but that has to be done directly with Sky
