I have an Ultra HD box and when a Sky engineer visited recently to check my connections (due to problems when the wind blows), he suggested I should upgrade to SkyQ. I can't find anywhere on my Sky App or the website which helps me to contact someone to assess this possibility. Is there a real human I could speak to, please?

hi @Fozzie60
Do you mean you have a SKY HD box ? as SKY Ultra HD boxes are SKY Q

It has "Sky+HD" printed on it and is one of the bigger older ones.

hi @Fozzie60
In which case if you want to upgrade to SKY Q then you will need to call - if you have received a letter there should be a number on that.
Otherwise, if you have the MY SKY app I think you may be able to find a number there - especially if you are a SKY VIP member
If not go this page & scroll to the bottom and expand the link need more help & scroll down

If you have SKY Mobile or SKY Talk land line then I think you can also call 150
I would, however, suggest you read some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q

That's not Ultra HD, that's jist HD.
There's a good write up by nigea on here about what to consider when upgrading because it's a quite different experience. A lot is better, a few features are missing, a few navigation things are a bit bizarre.
(and as if by magic, he posted it while I was writing that)

If so, there would be an extra UHD subscription needed to make most use of it with Sky Q.
