I am upgrading to Sky Q from a really old Sky box we bought in 2007. I would like to know if we will need new cabling to go with the new box. Ideally I would like to be certain before the engineer comes so that we can have all the furniture already moved away from the walls.

hi @Howard9
If you have twin cabling then usually it is OK (but not guaranteed depending on the state) - the engineer will need access to the Dish though
You may wish to read some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q which mention this amongst other points

@Howard9 no one can say for certain the engineer will inspect the cabling when they arrive and if it needs replacing they will replace it but I would think that replacing the whole cable run is not something Sky need to do on a regular basis

@nigea99 It looks like a single cable, so I reckon it will need replacing. Thanks very much for your help.

@Howard9 how many cables are running into you current Sky box have a look at the back of your box as shotgun cables can look as though it is only one cable when in reality it is 2 cables but they are joint together
