Unitron dCSS-422

Hi, I have sky Q via a communal system....the switch needs replacing but the building management are refusing to do any repairs/upgrades unless it's to the freeview system....and even then they are reluctant....my query is would anyone know if an ASHA or Sky would be willing to do the replacement if say a resident was willing to pay? I don't think the part itself is exactly expensive and other than this my only other option is  Sky Glass/Sky Stream. Thanks in advance

hi @Amcevoy

Is it the Unitron uit that is failing or the underlying system ?

If it is the Unitron then I suspect SKY may replace it.

I will tag our kind expert @Godfrey who is more likely to know & able to give more advice

@Amcevoy   As @nigea99 mentions, is it the communal Legacy Universal LNB multiswitch, or a Unitron dCSS-422 Sky Q Plug-In adaptor which needs to be replaced, and who gave you this information?

@Amcevoy   As a starting point, if it is just a defective dSCR multiswitch that requires replacing, the basic trade price for a 4 port Whyte dSCR multiswitch ranges from around £136, up to a 16 port Whyte dSCR multiswitch that costs around £505.

A suitably qualified 'system' engineer can be found on the website run by The Confederation of Aerial Industries, which has Sky listed as a 'supporting associate'.

So, to get an estimate, have a look here;   Link to Get Me Viewing website   and search for an ' Approved System Installer' in your area.

Re: Unitron dCSS-422

I've emailed the engineer again to clarify if it's the multiswitch or dCSS adaptor. Thanks for your help

@Amcevoy  If your Sky engineer found out that a Sky Unitron dCSS-422 adaptor was faulty they would have replaced it.

Re: Unitron dCSS-422

Ah ok so it'll likely be the multiswitch then....
