Unable to use any Apps
For the last month we have had scaffolding around the back of the house blockingthe sky dish, we knew it would block the signal but have been using apps without an issue until earlier this morning when it now says to use this service you need a satalite signal. I have tried resetting the Sky Q box. When I go to settings>Status it shows X next to satellite signal (as expected) a tick next to Network connection and then an X next to Watch via Sky Go & Watch on Sky Q mini box. I have tried to reinstate it in the options it gives me but nothing works.
Why would it stop all of a sudden? Apps obviously dont need satellite signal as they use the broadband have been working fine for the last month. Sky Go is working fine on the tablet etc. Anyone else experienced this and any ideas to get round it?

Unfortunately the box needs a periodic 'Keep alive' signal that is only delivered by the Satellite, so when the next one is due & it doesn't get it the box effectively shuts down until it gets a signal again.
As you have found, you can still use SKY go
