UHD set up not finding 10 bit

My Samsung QE75QN90B + Sky Q box saves the UHD 2160 10bit setting then all of a sudden it changes to 1080i so i cant see UHD channels in the menu. Up to now I just reset it via AV settings to 10 bit. But now and I have to choose 8 bit as it says unable to find 10 bit although it did find 10 bit before. No idea why as I have not altered anything. My worry now is that I'm not getting the best quality although picture is still good.

hi @Moisy68

Please may I suggest you try a full power down restart of your TV & double checking the HDMI seetings on it , in case a firmware or other updtae has happened - I think the key one  to get 10 bit for Samsung is Deep Color but it could be something similar

Re: UHD set up not finding 10 bit

On my Samsung TV you have to go to settings, external devices and make sure input plus selected for the HDMI source going to the sky box. This enables 10 bit including HDR.

occasionally especially if you have reset the box or TV the settings clear and input plus gets removed.

Re: UHD set up not finding 10 bit

Thank you so much for the replies.

I can't see a UHD deep colour setting on my Samsung tv. The HDMI input plus is on going to the sky box.

I am still getting the error UH021 when I select 10 bit so have to go with 8 bit 😞

Re: UHD set up not finding 10 bit

I just did the full power down on the TV and the option to choose 10 bit has worked!

Thank you and Merry Christmas 🎅

Re: UHD set up not finding 10 bit

For Philips 809 important sequencing

full power restart cycle

software update sky q box

with everything back on, restart TV only

then change setting on sky box to 10bit

this sequence fixed my issue which occurred for the first time in the last few days (sky reverting to 8 bit and not playing HDR)
