Re: This programme is no longer available
Yeah that can be a problem with enforced "upgrades". Not sure I'm going to be happy with this streaming box one Q goes .. but that's an issue for future me 😛

Re: This programme is no longer available
Likewise and I don't disagree.
Streaming is utterly useless for how I access services (particularly Sport.) Providers will need to address known issues. Their problem for Sky is Q is actually a very good product they'll struggle to replicate.

Re: This programme is no longer available
Why change via Denon?
Should be Q box HDMI to TV, TV ARC/EARC to Audio (or alt Optical TV/ Audio).
Sky Plus or Q shouldn't make much of a difference, though it's so long since I changed its hard to remember. I didn't realise Sky were still marketing Q systems though they're far superior to Glass/Streaming.
Folks need to cotton-on that, to date, future streaming services (whoever the provider) have significant downsides to psuedo 'live' services presently broadcast. If you're the type of viewer who's happy to 'download and watch' then superior graphic and audio quality will be for you. OTOH if you don't want to watch the goal go in 30 seconds after your mate's have told you they're celebrating, or you get annoyed when having to endlessly scroll and unscroll gives up and puts you back to the start, then streaming isn't be for you.
At present 'streaming' is a retrograde step. There's no guarantee it'll improve any time soon.

Because all my sources - Sky, media player, DVD/CD, cassette, VCR, phono, tape - are routed through my Denon to (for the video sources) several switchable displays. Is that not the logical way to do it? It's never occurred to me to do otherwise.

Re: This programme is no longer available
Fair comment @btrftg I don't have Sky Q nor Stream or Glass but I do use Sky Go to watch my Sky TV Subscription mainly F1 via mobile phone tablet or pc for a bigger screen experience.
I also use the firetvstick to watch other sport also my smart 42in TV becomes an even bigger streaming box when connected to the Internet
So for me streaming is not utterly useless it allows me to watch what I want when I decide to watch it each too their own I guess

Re: This programme is no longer available
Same problem here - need to switch SkyQ box off/on at mains every time I want to watch.
I have spoken to countless people at Sky, everyone has a different theory as to the source of the problem - internet connection issue, Sky Q box problem, HDMI cable problem, faulty TV. Trying to eliminate one by one.
Furious to learn this is a known issue but nobody told me. Keen to know the permanent fix as changing the order which switch on/off devices is not an adequate solution.

The permanent fix will be a software update.

Re: This programme is no longer available
Yeah I think @BenShel was rather annoyed that none of the Sky CS reps told them. This is a major issue with any problem when ringing in with a fault - they just default to "its a you issue" rather than "its a them issue". Which is fine at first time of asking, but when you ring in multiple times and their CS reps just don't seem to know that it's a known issue, it can be rather annoying. Not saying Sky are alone with this problem - pretty much every large company seems to have the same issue. Important information never filters through to those on the front lines.

Re: This programme is no longer available
Some superusers (and of course some Sky staff) currently testing the latest software update, Q360.000.08.00L (68x37s0)
Hopefully pushed out soon overnight for everybody else (and hopefully resolves this and other issues). Don't bother using the 'update now' option on the Q box, it'll probably only "update" to the Q350 version, let it do it's thing overnight when it's released.

Re: This programme is no longer available
As my sky q box seems to die after I put it to standby every night how can Sky be sure that the software update - WHEN IT FINALLY COMES - will download ??
Yes I have tried leaving the box on overnight but it still freezes up.
This fault must be affecting countless thousands of Sky users, so I'm a bit astounded it's taking so long to resolve.

Re: This programme is no longer available
Q360 does not resolve the issue. Once my Sony Bravia has been switched off for a couple of hours the issue is there again. I've even set the main and the minis not to go on stand by, no joy.
So looks like the connection drops/freezes once the TV is off for a period of time.

Re: This programme is no longer available
I've been switching my box off at the wall overnight after shutting it down using the switch on the front of the box (not the remote) for weeks now. Not ideal but it is at least working.
I'm waiting for some kind soul on this forum to tell us when the new software update is available, then we can download it manually from the settings section. I've updated it a couple of times recently, more in hoope than expectation, but still stuck on Q350.
Google Gemini says that updates are normally pushed out on a Tuesday night, so finger crossed, eh?
It is an absurd situation, especially as Sky are obviously still sending out replacement boxes with no hope of that fixing the problem, which must be costing them a fortune.

@manassas77 It's probably the same box or two that just gets constantly recirculated 😉
