The 'Private Chat' window I had opened with Sky's agent has disappeared and I forgot to make a note of the number I need to call, anyone else have it? I don't have any social media accounts and I'll be damned if I'm creating one just so I can get a phone number via Sky's Facebook or Instagram presence.

Mine has been ok all day.

 

The only change I made was to switch HDMI Control to Off.

I spoke to tech guy today, he made me turn all the standby options the same on all boxes to see if that helps.

Mine has worked for 2 days now, I turn the box to standby when I finish using it, so far so good.

After speaking to the guy on FB messenger yesterday, my box is set to ECO under standby options and I've also turned the smart standby to OFF (he didn't think it would make a difference but I tried it anyway! Just means I mustn't lose the TV remote!)

apparently being in Eco mode means the box updates more regularly. 

So far so good but it's only been 24 hours.

@Hel74 turning eco mode off doesn't affect how regular you get updates ,since 2016 when i got Sky Q i've always had eco set to off and never missed an update at all so I wouldn't worry

After it happening multiple times Wednesday I called and spoke to support again. I was told there is no known issues that have been reported to sky. Was told the the only fix is a new box which was ordered immediately for me. First morning I've not had the issue so potentially solved my issue without fixing it. Very poor customer service and frustration of inconsistent messaging.

Thanks so much for mentioning the Tapo. As you say: absolutely not a fix, but it really takes the hassle out of continually removing the lead from the back of the Sky Q box every time the box loses / freezes picture etc. Plus it has the added advantage of measuring energy consumption and built-in surge protection on the TP-Link Tapo P304M.

Worked again this morning 🧐

 

Made sure it was on standby (orange light) when I went to bed last night and when I hit the Home button on the Sky Remote this morning everything - TV, soundbar, Sky box - came on and worked as expected.

I'm having the same issues. I've just had a new Sky Q box delivered 2 days ago as I thought the box was faulty. This evening I'm back to square one. Blank screen and programme no longer available keeps coming up if I try to change channels. I have sound but nothing else and have to turn it off at the wall - so annoying!!!
