TV not UHD

Our TV upstairs won't support UHD so we can't watch recorded shows. Is there a way to record in standard HD?

Almost all broadcast television on mainstream channels is HD: there's very little UHD being transmitted.  For on-demand content you'd need to select the HD rather than UHD download.

Unfortunately a main Q box cannot turn a UHD recording into HD for playback from a Q Mini.

hi @Leigh83

If  you are recording from the F1 UHD channel or Sports Main Event UHD then you can also record from the HD channel - you will find these down the Channel list

SD, HD, UHD – whatever your definition of choice, you can download in it if you have the right TV equipment and subscription.

To change your download preferences, you need to complete this on the main Sky Q box, not a Sky Q mini box:

Press Home on your Sky Q remote and select Settings, then Setup.

Select Preferences, then On Demand default download format, and choose SD, HD or UHD.

If your default download format is unavailable, it’ll download in the next available format. For example, If HD is unavailable, the show will download in SD.
