I'm meant to get 600 minimum 400 and don't believe that's happening.......TV pixels...... programmes buffering

Broadband speeds are measured to your router.  You may not get the full bandwidth depending on many factors.

 

If the TV is pixelating then it sounds like an issue with your dish.

Stand next to your router with a phone* (or use a wired PC) and go to speedtest.net to find out what real broadband speed you are getting.

* wifi sometimes can't get as high as 600Mb so it's best to use a cabled connection for this test.

"Poor signal" suggests you were not standing next to the router so were bottlenecked by the wifi connection, not the internet connection.
