Soundbox/ HP laptop HDMI output

Using soundbox as Bluetooth speaker for Samsung - all great. Last night connected soundbox to HP laptop that has no In built Bluetooth ( I know it's a dinosaur) via HDMI. I inserted into soundbox HDMI input and laptop HDMI output but no sound watching iplayer. Played with all laptop audio setting via its Bang & Olyfsen app but no luck. Any ideas please.

Was the laptop displaying on its own screen?

I don't think the Soundbox is going to generate audio that way.

hi @deadly60

Did you try looking at the OS sound settings to select the HDMI output for sound

On my Windows 11 desktop, I have an audio icon on the  Taskbar I can select to change between Speakers  & HDMI / Optical etc (althouh  the labels ar slightly different e.g. for Optical it is Realtek Digital Output)
