I've had this issue for a while. The sound is fine whilst watching the cricket as I currently am, or football. As soon as the adverts come on, the sound drops to a whisper, there is a 5 second pause, and then it's almost like Sky realise and turn it back up again.
Listening in Dolby Atmos DD+, through a Denon AVR3600 amp.
Any ideas as I have browsed all settings in the Q box and amp and nothing changes it.
Thanks.

I don't watch the cricket usually but switched over to SKY Sports ME UHD and just had a very short ad break.
On my Yamaha Amp I think there was possibly a slight reduction in volume but without listening for it I probably wouldn't have noticed it
The adverts are, of course, generally only 2.0 rather than multi-speaker surround that the Atmos brings

Hi Nige,
Thanks for the reply. It's not a stereo 2.0 issue, or any other sound format issue as my amp auto switches anyway.
Even when the ads are over, the returning sport I'm watching on 401 UHD is barely audible for 5-10 seconds.
It has to be the source sound format, as the receiver can only, well, receive! 😂
Come on Sky boffins, own up.

Not too sure what the reason is & why you seem to be noticing more of a jump than I do.
I have now switched away but I did watch/listen to another ad break - this one was perhaps a bit more quiet but still perfectly audible & I don't think I would have thought twice about if I wasn't listening for a difference
