Soot damage to equipment

Whilst the chimney was being swept there was a large breakout of soot into the room which is subject of an insurance claim part of which is the replacement of the TV and sound bar. We have been advised by the insurance company to contact Sky regarding the risk of potential damage to Skybox and broadband equipment.

Please advise

Best to call Sky...  This is primarily a customer forum so we cannot directly 'advise'.

However, the hardware is owned by Sky so if has been damaged then there is likely to be a cost to replace it.  (For which I presume the insurer will be covering)

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

@CWCW
You aren’t actually contacting Sky by posting here as this is a customer ▶️ customer discussion forum where we try to assist other customers.

You perhaps need to contact Sky and discuss the potential replacement of loaned equipment and any charges Sky may apply for damaging their equipment.

We're only other customers here I'm afraid, you'll need to phone or chat with Sky directly. Unless it's an HD+ box then Sky boxes are loaned and replaced if faulty. Are they working?

Either 150 on a Sky broadband landline or Sky mobile or have a look at https://www.sky.com/help/articles/contacting-sky
