Sony soundbar with sky bluetooth remote

Hi, ive just received a new Sky Q bluetooth remote and it wont operate the volume on my Sony SA-MT300 soundbar. Ive been through the set up and all the Sony options for set up but still no joy. This worked with the previous now defunct remote. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

So nevermind, tried brand new batteries and worked first time
