Recordings shouldn't play half way through, they don't for me

Sky can give you a booster or you can use ethernet or powerlines instead of wifi to improve your mini connection.

Re: Skyq is pathetic

Had a engineer out twice used a Ethernet cable and wps doesn't make a difference when you go to watch a recording it starts half way through the recording sky q is useless over rated that's for sure you can't even set a reminder for programs

Yeah we've had the reminders thing ad infinitum. We all know and most of us don't care and just use siri/hello google to quickly set a reminder.

Recordings will only start part way through if you were watching it live or on another box, I think.

If you use ethernet, turn off wifi in the installer menu or it seems to try to use it anyway.

@Amanda731

If you're sat there channel hopping and actually go onto a channel you're recording at the time, your Sky Q box will automatically think you've watched the programme up til that point. Then, when you come to watch the recording it will 'continue' from the point you viewed it at. If this happens just click 'watch from the start'.

The reminder function has never been available on Sky Q and won't be added this late on in its lifetime.

hi @Amanda731

The others have said why recordings might start part way through.

There  should be  a watch from start button under the recording thumbnail. if this is the case.

Alternatively, I find the easiest way to navigate in recordings is via voice control :- handy controls are :
Skip nn minutes
Go To nn minutes
Back nn minutes

You can use hours, minutes & seconds or mix e.g. Go to 1hour 15 minutes

Skip nn minutes is very handy for adverts and you get used to the length on regular used channels (Many are around the 4 minute mark)

You can also say Go To Start

Voice control in general is very useful - see

Recordings don't start "half way through" unless the box thinks you are trying to continue from where you left off, which will happen if you have at anytime been on the channel that you are recording.  Just look for the "watch from start button".

Re: Skyq is pathetic

@Amanda731 I suspect you are accessing the recordings when the box has been on that channel.

You need to use the Watch from Start button

@plumbbob

It's never been on Sky Q so can't be brought back.

@plumbbob Sky Q is turning 8 next month so there is no chance of reminders being added to Sky Q
