SkySports UHD channel showing upscaled content

Is this new or have I just not been paying attention? The on-screen dog for the Sky Sports Main Event UHD channel (401) seems to change depending whether the broadcast is in native UHD or has been upscaled from HD or other resolutions. Watching the Premier League footy today, the dog reads "Sky Sports UHD Main Event" and resides in the top right corner. But watching the PGA Championship (golf) on the same channel, the dog moves to top left and reads "Sky Sports Main Event" despite being tagged in the EPG as "UHD", ie the same as the footy.

Is this Sky starting to come clean about their mislabelling of upscaled content as "UHD"?

Re: SkySports UHD channel showing upscaled content

I was watching IPL cricket yesterday on the MainEventUHD channel (401) and the on-screen dog icon changed during the broadcast. While the match was on the UHD dog was displayed but it chnged to the non-UHD dog for the player interviews afterwards which presumably used different, non-UHD cameras. If it does indeed change on the fly to inform viewers when they are getting native UHD content and when they are being fed upscaled video, that's progress imho - even though the "UHD" flag in the EPG never changes.

Sky's own rulebook states that upscaled content should be flagged as "Remastered for UHD" in the EPG but I guess that will come eventually.
