SkyQ

I am considering SkyQ with 2 minibuses. What has put me off previously was my  belief that the mini boxes are internet reliant. From my recent conversation I understand that only streaming is internet reliant and it is possible to watch normal TV even if there is no internet signal. I should add at this point that my broadband is not with Sky.

Can anyone confirm this please?

I understand that the main box will continue to receive signals from the dish as now and that the mini boxes will also receive signals from the dish.  This is a deal breaker for me and I would find it helpful to hear from others, in normal layman's terms.

It is not that I don't trust the Sky customer service but I have been previously given a different answer. Plus the info I have come across on line is confusing.

Thank you.

Hi @Junipa24   The Main box (server) is connected to the Dish and it should also be connected to the Internet. The Mini boxes (thin clients) connect to the Main box by WiFi or Ethernet (better) and receive all services through the Main box.
