SkyQ mini Box Issue

Turned on the SkyQ mini box

Said (usual thing every 2-4 days) there is a problem connecting to your SkyQ main box, we would liek to ask 3 questions

Said yes to the 1st question

Please wait whilst the box reconnects to your main SkyQ box

When the screen goes blank press teh (house) key to continue

However NOW it will not do anything at all it remains turned off/ (red light on box (or amber) but does look more red to me.

Usually you press the button after a short wait and it turns on, but nothing.

I have tried unplugging it, i have tried pulling out the power lead from the box itself and nothing, it goes through teh set-up but then refuse's to do anything else at this point???

Still nothing, have turned both internet off for 5 minutes and main skyQ box, rebooted internet, rebooted sky main box and set up. then rebooted mini box, but it just will not turn on after the - when the screen goes blank press teh (house) button, its perpetually turned off  and refuse's to do anything from this point.

remote is fine it can turn the TV on and off, and turn to the freeview TV (but the remote for the TV stopped working a couple months ago) and the Sky rtemote doesnt work with it.

I thinketh its time to save £220 per month and cancel sky, god knows why its so high, even after we have countless told them to cut down the service we still havent been cut down, so i am now thinking cancel the whole lot. If this is how sky treat long time customers (25yrs).

Re: SkyQ mini Box Issue

i found this info in another thread

@Cullyboy9

Sky have previously suggested the following...

  • Unpair their Sky Q remote from the box by holding 4&6
  • Wait for the remote to flash
  • Then dismiss the information screen "Skip & set up later"
  • Hold 1&3 to repair the remote control

If 4&6 does not allow you to clear the information screen, try holding 7&9 to reset the Sky Q remote then hold 1&3 and follow the on-screen setup journey to allow the remote to control the TV.

So i held buttons 4 and 6 till it flashed, and then held buttons 1 and 3, the box then turned on but it seems to be stuck on obtaining IP address after having gone downstaist and holding in that button on the main SkyQ box to pair the sky q mini box with teh main box.. Just a blue screen with stage 3 of 4.

Going to try turning teh thing off at the mains waiting and rebooting it again since its been like this for over 5 minutes

Hi @Manestream

Have you tried pressing the Standby button (Amber led) on the front of the Q box.
If this turns the Q box on
With the Q box on with green led try completly resetting your Bluetooth remote again/
Press and hold 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s led flashes four times.
Then make sure that you are pointing your remote at the Q box and press 1 & 3 together until the led flashes and follow onscreen instructions to re- pair to TV.

@Manestream you could try refreshing the apps in the engineers menu

To enter the engineers menu do the follow
press the home button then scroll down to setting and hi-light
do not press select/enter but press 001 then select this takes you into the engineers menu

scroll down to apps > refresh
