Sky + to Sky Q

I have Sky+ and want to change to Sky Q. Can i do this for free? The only option i can find is to upgrade to multiroom as well, which i have no need of, for £11 a month. I just want to keep my existing package. What are my options? Do I have to ring Sky? The virtual assistant has been of no help.

@Paulo5511

Give Sky a call to negotiate a new discounted 24 month deal.

I will cc in one of the other Superusers who has compiled a very helpful guide for those thinking of transitioning from Plus to Q which may provide some insight into something you hadn't considered…

hi @Paulo5511

you probably need to call Sky, although there may be a couple of options to contact them - see my generic note I add below.

You may, also, wish to read some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q

SKY +/HD to SKY Q  - as you will see free instalation may come with 'strings'.

I believe these are the current methods for contacting Sky. Depending on your reason for making contact some methods are more appropriate than others …

call Customer Services by dialling 150 (free) from either a Sky mobile or a Sky Talk landline.

All calls will start automated which may offer you the online help route or try to send you here to the forum. Stay on the line as long as possible and saying nothing when asked the reason for the call sometimes helps being put in the queue for an agent.

Note: if your services are restricted due to a missed payment phone contact is unlikely to work.

online help via this link
https://www.sky.com/help
At the end of the help it MAY provide a phone number if it's appropriate.

 Sky Assistant is now available at the top of sky.com/help (or as a chat bubble bottom right if used before) for most service issues and gives you 24/7 help and a quick response. It will provide you with multiple choice options based on your problem and will provide troubleshooting steps to fix any service issues.

Social Media You can also get in touch via the messaging services on: Facebook, Instagram, or X (links at the bottom of the forum page).

Edit @Daniel0210  thanks - I was writing my reply as you posted 🙂
