Sky sports news and discovery+ on essentials package

Looking at lists of channels included in the essentials TV package, sky sports news, discovery and some others should be included but when I select those channels it says I need to upgrade my subscription. Has the essentials package been reduced?

Unfortunately I think you are looking at a list for SKY Glass/Stream Essential TV

This is not the same as  the similarly but slightly differently named SKy Q Essentials

(We feel that it was mistake on SKY's part to use similar names for the different products on the different platforms which  causes a lot of confusion - including search engines) 

SKY Q Essentials only includes the Free to Air channels - SKY Sports News & Discovery  are  not Free to Air

As @nigea99 indicates, the products are 'Essential TV' (on Glass  & Stream) and 'Television Essentials' (on Sky+ HD and SkyQ) : unfortunately AI-backed search in particular currently struggles to provide accurate results when humans (entirely understandably) combine these subtly different names in a query, and this then replicates into AI-generated articles (or just lazy journalism ; )
