Sky q mini question
Hi,
im wanting to buy 4 mini's but have a question about usage that I can't find anywhere online.
i see comments saying you can't watch live tv on more than 2 boxes at once however can you stream iplayer for example or other apps on all 4 at once?

Re: Sky q mini question
Firstly, you can't buy any mini boxes. They are loaned to you.
You can have a maximum of 4 mini boxes loaned to you by Sky. You can watch Sky content on two minis and the main box at the same time. You may be able to use a 3rd mini box at the same time if you’re using it for one of the apps such as Netflix.
Be aware the original 1TB (non-UHD) Sky Q box only allows one mini to be in use. To check if you have the non UHD 1TB box check in:-
Home - Settings - System Info - Hardware Version
If it shows as 32Cxxx then you have a non UHD 1TB that only supports 1 active mini box.
All 2TBs and the UHD/HDR 1TB permit two mini boxes. Each mini box which is loaned to you may be subject to a one off upfront charge but you only need one Sky Q monthly Multiscreen subscription.

Re: Sky q mini question
For that many screens you'd need to look at Sky Stream rather than Sky Q.

Re: Sky q mini question
What do you mean by Sky content? Is this live Tv/anything recorded on the main sky box?
apps like Disney/netflixs/iplayer fall outside this?

Only 2 mini's can connect as a slave to the main box - this would be for live or recorded material (all channels).
Apps that stream directly from the internet should work outside this limit, subject to bandwidth.
