If I record a programme from a mini box can I then view the recording that I have made from that same mini box?,and also see any other recirdings I have made from the same mini box?

hi @JN4

All recordings are physically made & stored on the main box & there is no differentiation between where it was set to record from.

All recordings can be played on any box with the exception of UHD recordings as the minis can't play UHD content

Also note there is no user profile system to be able to separate recordings

Re: Sky q mini box schedu

So I can record from a mini box,it is stored on the main box and then the recording can be viewed on the mini box? Just wanted to check as I will be getting two mini boxes of which other people in the house will want to watch and record from their own mini boxes.

Yes

As per my previous reply, however, there is no difference between who or where the recording was set from.

All recordings  are available to every box (except UHD) and no way to separate them by who/where requested.

This can be quite a change for customers used to the SKY +/HD multiroom boxes with their own separate recordings

Re: Sky q mini box schedu

Can I view on a mini box what has been recorded from that box?

hi @JN4  you cannot tell which box requested the recording to be made but a mini box can watch any recording other than UHD ones

Hi @JN4  Yes, the central recordings can be viewed from any box.

I think @JN4 means, unless they really are asking the same question for the 10th time in this thread, can they see a list of just the recordings that were set up from a particular box and the answer is no, it's just one big library of recordings for the whole system.

BTW @JN4

If you are awaiting the move from SKY HD to SKY Q there may, also, be some other things you may wish to know in some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q

SKY +/HD to SKY Q

Edit - I just realised I posted this  along with others replying when you first asked in September

Re: Sky q mini box schedu

I had two mini boxes installed yesterday. One of which the signal intermittently drops out.The box is loocated in an upstairs bedroom. Is there a wi-fi extender that might help?. I have BT broadband.

Hi @JN4

First try rebooting the main Q box and then when this is completely back up and running reboot the minis.
To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)

note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

Reboot the minis as above.
If the mini still does not connect try a Network Reset on the minis. Start with the one nearest to the main Q box
Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to WPS with main Q box.
You will be asked to press the WPS button on the main Q box (not the mini as the Network reset will start the mini WPS automatically).

If you get the first mini connected then for other minis use WPS on the nearest Q device (main Q box or previously connected mini).

Failing all of the above you may need a Sky Q WiFi Booster to position midway between your main Q box and the mini and you will need to contact Sky directly.
