Sky q Mini box keeps dropping network connection

Our new sky Q mini box keeps dropping WiFi connection. We have a strong WiFi signal & BT disc in the same room. Sky have changed the mini box today & it's still the same!
it's as if the mini box is trying to connect to main router & not the BT disc

The mini will not hold a connection to a BT (wholehome) disc.  It will connect and then drop off in less than a minute.

If you want to use your WH then you can only do this by connecting the Q boxes to a disc via Ethernet.  (And disabling WiFi).  The backhaul will be handled by the disc so you can turn off Q WiFi.

All Q boxes need an ethernet connection to a disc.  Have you disabled WiFi on each?

Re: Sky q Mini box keeps dropping network connection

Hi @PandJ2020,

I think you topology below might answer the question I had just asked on the community which is:

"My Sky Q Main Box his hard wired to one of my Decco Satellite Units which runs on a wifi connection from the main Decco unit which is hardwired to my Virgin router. I have just had an extension put in and would like my Sky Q mini box to be hardwired as the distance between main box and mini box is causing issues.

As I understand it, the if I am not a Sky Internet customer, I am required to hardwire the Mini Box to the Main box as opposed to directly to the router. With this in mind I had a cable run to facilitate this but the Main Q box only has one ethernet port.

Question - Can I install a Switch/Splitter somehwere (At the Main Q Box?) that will enable me to hardwire both main box and mini box?

Thanks."

Grateful if you could help me clarify that I can do the same and essentially add a switch between my Decco Satellie which my Main box is currently hardwired to and then hardwire my Mini box to the Main box via the switch?

Thanks,

Jamie
