Sky no long providing dishes for Sky Q
Hi,
I am looking to have SKy installed at my property. Ideally, I would like stream but unfortunaltey, my broadband isn't fast enough. So, I called Sky about getting Q and t hey offered the standard singature package for £20 per month (24). I though this was ok, however, I was then informed Sky no longer provide/install dishes, and I'd have to sort this out myself. Is this true?
Note: there a dish on my property, but it's 20 + years old and it's pretty rusted and beat up.
Any advice would be appreaciated 🙂

Re: Sky no long providing dishes for Sky Q
That's incorrect. Sky still sell Sky Q subscriptions and install dishes (although they don't sell Sky+ or maintain Sky+ any more).
However there are fewer Sky engineers due to redundancies which may lead to delays.

Re: Sky no long providing dishes for Sky Q
Many thanks for the prompt reply. I did think this was a bit strange, I may try calling again and see if I get a different answer, they did say there was an engineer call out charge to conenct up the Q boxes at £25.

...I guess they can charge if they want to - mixed messages though as they've extended the contract for the satellites... (I guess they prefer streaming services)

Also incorrect. There is no charge for a dish installation. Your clearly got an agent who was intent of selling you Stream or Glass.

Although there is no specific charge for Dish installation there are setup charges for Sky Q installations.
ie
Sky TV: £31 pm with a new 24-month minimum term. Prices may change during this period. Standard price (currently £36.50pm) applies when not signing up to a new min term or outside of min term. Prices may change during this period. Set-up: New customers: £20; Existing Sky Q customers: £20; Existing Sky+HD customers upgrading to Sky Q: £119. Non-standard set up may cost extra. Subject to status. Upfront payment may be required.
