I had my sky fitted during Covid which meant a install from outside the building with the engineer talking me through the install. All is fine but the cable that comes in from outside is about 4 meters too long. Can I just cut it to size and reconnect the end?

Yes - it is important that you do not let any of the fine strands of outer braiding touch the central core wire

Re: Cable from dish too long, can I trim it to size?
Yes. Carefully 🙂 the central core on the cable is needed to feed through the f plug so don't damage it and make sure you isolate the surrounding braid properly when you refit the plug.
Leave it a bit too long just in case.
