Sky mini box

Hi.Hope someone can help.

Have just recieved my sky q mini box.

Both are connected to WiFi,both working fine.

The thing is,when I turn off the plug at the wall on the main box I get nothing on the mini box.

Would I have the same problem using an thereto cable on the main box.

Thank you

Hi @Rob139

Main box needs to be powered on and at least in standby for the mini to work.

All Q boxes need to be powered on to function.

Question - why are you turning your main Sky Q box off at the wall?  It uses very little power in standby & Sky does most of its 'housekeeping' overnight (assuming the box is in standby)

I am just another Sky customer!

Like almost all modern 'smart' devices the main Q box is intended to be powered at all times, and Mini box functionality relies upon that being the case.  All data for the Mini, whether from the satellite dish or online, flows through the main box and that cannot happen if it is unpowered rather than being in its power-saving mode.
