Are you trying to watch HD channel without HD sub?

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own

Re: Sky max

I am unsure..I have a sky Q basic package. To my understanding I should still be able to get access to sky max?

Yes, but probably only SD.  Try channel 813.

hi @kwilson

Try changing your download preference to SD
Main Menu -> Settings -> Setup -> Preferences

Hi @kwilson

Everybody should have Sky Max. There may be a problem with your viewing card. I'm afraid a call to Sky is required. Sorry I forgot to note, you have tried a power reboot of your Sky Q Main box?

Edit: Sorry I see you have Sky Basic, so free to air channels only. Sky Max requires a Signature subscription.

@kwilson if you mean you have Sky Essentials then you will only have access to the free to view channels

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Re: Sky max

Alright then. Does being a silver VIP member change anything?

Nope: Max is a subscription channel, not Free To Air.

VIP status has never negated the need to subscribe.
