Sky boxes losing network connection over ethernet
Hi All - I have a virgin fibre connection going into an orbi router and then into a series of ethernet connected managed netgear switches. I have an old house with thick walls so need ethernet in combination with wireless AP's to get decent connectivity through the house.
I have Sky Q boxes connected by ethernet with wifi turned off (through 001 menu). Both the main box and the minis periodically lose connection to the network and to each other and need to be re-started. I notice they seem to generate bocked ports on the switches.
Do I need any particualr port settings to stop this happening or do the sky boxes require a separate VLAN? I've run out of ideas.
Any help greatly appreciated

Re: Sky boxes losing network connection over ethernet
Unfortunately Q has been notorious since launch in 2016 for glitching with managed switches (possibly because it does slightly unorthodox things with its own networking). You may need to dig back through this forum to find suggestions for tweaks, but the typical advice is to use unmanaged hardware.
