I have had my Sky box for a while now.
For a while now it disconnects when the microwave oven goes on. We had the surpressor on the microwave changed, but that did not help. In the last week the Sky Q box is not starting up, I have to unplug ever time to reset the box. I have noticed that the viewer card is discoloured, so wondered if it was overheating? I changed its position to enable more air around it, however, this has not improved the situation.

Browning around the chip is very common: it's not heat-related.

Could be, I would do 2 things:
- Work through the following online help flow - you should be able to organise an engineer visit: Fixing Sky Q equipment
- If you feel comfortable doing so, unplug the Q box completely and underneath is a fan exhaust that can get clogged up with dust over the years meaning it is less efficient - give it a good (but gentle) clean
