The sky Q box has started randomly swithing off without warning. Its not the idle switch off and has started happening with more and more regularity sometimes with barely a few minutes to shut down. Hitting the home button gives an almost instant reboot.
Ive tried the 0 0 1 reboot and that has not helped.
The box's vents are clear and whilst the box is warm its not especially hot.
Please advise.

Hi Dave, not a solution I'm afraid, just a fellow frustrated user! Ours to started not so long ago switching off soon after turning it on. So it APPEARS to be connected with pushing buttons to be doing something - but it can be anything that is being pressed.

Hi all,
My main sky q box has been randomly switching itself of for a few weeks now while we are in the middle of watching tv. It can happen multiple times during a few hours but also it can go a day or so and not happen at all, weird but true.
tried the reboots and looked at the standby settings so on but still doing it.
it's well ventilated and not overheating.
it's also doing the same if we are using an app like Disney or prime.
you have to press the power button on remote and it fires back on straight away.
I've not called sky support as yet due to time constraints but will do as soon as possible just wondering if anyone can help pre calling sky?
also noticed that the Netflix app just hangs and doesn't load so we watch that via the smart tv not the sky q box, just added this info in case it's related...

My Sky Q box has been randomly switching itself off for a while..... frustrated I ordered a replacement box but it's still happening!?!
did anyone get a resolution for this issue please?

I got my new/replacement box, installed it and a few hours later it randomly switch it self of in the same way as the previous q box did. I thought oh no not again but I'm happy to say since then it's not done it again and fingers crossed it won't but I guess it will now I've mentioned it.
i haven't messed with any setting just left as it is but will update if I have it happen again.
maybe try a new q box and see how it goes?
