Sky box keeps dropping internet connection

The internet connection keeps dropping, it's not the internet as all other devices working fine. Settings keep saying it's connected then then the x comes on and it says it's not connected, then back to being connected but it's messing with Netflix etc...

I am having exactly the same issue. Spoke with Sky today and when they checked it appears my Sky Stream puck is connecting to my Sky Hub via 2.4ghz, rather than the 5ghz that ithey would expect it to be. Went through a number of resets, and even tried disabling the 2.4 on this app, leaving only 5 active, but it keeps defaulting back to 2.4... Was told it possibly could be a hardware issue with the puck. Have agreed to monitor it for a week. They have agreed to replace my puck if this continues

We have had router replaced and engineer came to check connections but worse than ever . It's like 30 for download instead of 600

Losing connection to router

My SkyQ box is losing connection to my Sky router all the time! Ive tried all the steps to reconnect & even unplugged both devices, sometimes this works, other times not! Im paying nearly £160 a month & can't even use mini boxes most of the time!

Plus my wife and I both work from home and this is ruining teams calls etc. looking into Starlink as this is way off what we expect from sky

Update 04/05. So yet again my Sky Puck has no channels. Network settings shows Excellent Wifi Connection, however no channels loading. Just shows Please Wait for you programme to load. This is simply not good enough Sky 😕

5GHz is very easily attenuated by walls and distance. 2.4 is more robust (but obviously lower bandwidth). How far is your router from your sky puck? (This is the Q forum by the way but since you're in this thread now...)

 

Starlink won't help and definitely won't be good for zoom/Teams with its additional latency. It's a local issue inside the house.

Maybe just get a decent wifi mesh.
