Sky Q with Virgin router

I currently run sky q through my sky basic broadband. I currently have no access to  fibre via Openreach or Cityfibre  only via Virgin Media. I have had streaming problems lately and decided to bite the bullet and change my broadband to Virgin Media..

I read somewhere at one time that some changes have to be made to the Virgin router data to connect to sky. 

Can anyone advise please what it is I must do to have a decent connection. I vaguely recall something like an SSIM CODE (or something similar) has to be updated.

Has anyone made this move recently and can give advice. Thanks
