My Sky Q box keeps loosing wifi signal (wifi is working fine on everything else)

and mini boxes won't connect either. Only started happening today.

Anybody else having problems??

Hi @Graham0705

Are you carrying out a Network Reset found in main Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.

Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router. Even if reset is not listed there is still an option to connect by WiFi to Sky or 3rd party router
If you are on Sky broadband you will be asked to press the WPS button on the Sky router. (Not on the Q box as the Network reset will start the main Q box WPS automatically). Make sure you press the WPS button on the Sky router and not the reset button.
if you are on 3rd party (non Sky ) broadband then you need to enter the SSID and password for the router 2.4 Ghz WiFi band.

Hi @Graham0705

Did you try rebooting your Router before you carried out the Network reset on the Q box?

If it's a Sky Q router also try pressing the reset button.

Hold Reset on the back of your hub until the power light flashes green (about 10 seconds). Don't unplug or switch off your hub while it resets. The power light will go green when it's done.

Wait until the router is completely back up and running before Carrying out the Network reset on the Q box

Reboot it then @Graham0705

And then when it is completely back and running carry out the  Network reset again.

Assume you are putting in the SSID and password for the router 2.4 Ghz band.

Re: Sky Q wifi dropping out

I now have WiFi signal everywhere but the mini box is connecting to the main box then dropping out (no picture), is there a way to boost the signal from the main box to push it to the furthest mini box?

Hi @Graham0705

That would be a Sky Q WiFi booster positioned halfway between Q box and mini.

Re: Sky Q wifi dropping out

Does this boost the picture signal, as my WiFi signal is over 100

Hi @Graham0705

It increases the range of the WiFi which is what you said you need.

Edit ie

A WiFi booster is a device that extends your WiFi signal across your home. This is great if you have areas within your home which have a weaker signal. To extend your signal, a booster is placed in between a 'dead zone' (an area with weak signal) and the main Q box

It doesn't use your wifi if you're not on sky broadband. It connects direct to a wifi network generated by the Q box.
