Hi all,
I have a 1-year old Samsung TV which goes into standby at infrequent times while watching TV. I have narrowed this down to when we are watching via Sky Q as it does not occur when using apps on the TV (Netflix etc.) not external devices such as Apple TV. I have turned off as many power saving features as possible but the problem persists. Can be watching the TV for 10 mins then it goes into standby without any user input from ourselves.
I use high quality cables and baffeled as to what could be causing this. Have unplugged Sky Q fromt he mains etc. Any other ideas for this please?

Just to update this as I appear to have foudn a fix. Was using Ruipro fibre optic HDMI cables (yes I know...) which needed the accompaning USB cable for power. This worked for over a year but thought to try a different, standard, Belkin cable and the issue has gone. Hope this helps someone thinking of giving the Ruipro cables a go.

Re: Sky Q seemingly switching off Samsung TV
Turn off CEC (Anynet) on the Sky HDMI input, if it lets you do it on a per-port basis (or turn off hdmi control on the Sky box)

Gave it a go but this option disables the Samsung Soundbar. Is there anything else to try please?

Very odd. Almost sounds like the remote is sending something. I would try turning Anynet+ off on the TV just to try to isolate the cause.

It is strange - I will give that a go to see. Will try replacing batteries in remote in case something there too.
