Sky Q search facility is erratic

The Sky Q box which I have had since 05/09 has a inferior search facility to the old HD box. On friday last i searched for Warplane Workshop using text search and it found 2 series under Yesterday. Following day i searched again and it found nothing. It does not find much on channel 4 repository and there is no channel 4 app. Why not?  Sky has no legal agreement with channel 4 perhaps. But the HD box used to find loads more stuff.

I only switchedvto Q because Sky sent a frightener email about BBC switching to HD only service in 2024. I was told it would cost no more but the billing has been erratic in september and october and i have had to phone them twice about it. The uhd picture is not bad but other aspects of the box functionality is not good. If anyone has thoughts on the search functionality would be grateful to hear.

Not sure if it'll find anything extra but using the voice search may be quicker.

@Nomis1956 If it helps, Sky+HD box doesn't bring up any results for Warplane Workshop either, so presumably whatever was there has expired.

I have generally found the Text search reliable on Q

As others have said, I think youy may find that rights for Warplane Workshop may have expired - I have looked in catch up/On demand and even separately on UKTV Play (independent of SKY) & it is not listed. 

BTW The Voice Search that @Daniel0210 suggested used to be less reliable - I don't know if it now uses the same search engine or whether it has just improved but recently I have not found any discrepancies between the two (the old problems I knew about being rectified) - although, that said, I don't use either often and not done any significant comparisons

BTW you are right that neither All4 app or MY5 app are on Q and the Catch up / On demand for these channels is limited.  We don;t know why not but it is likely to down more to the Channel owners than SKY .  There were lots of shows that ITV made available to view via ITV Hub that they did not make available to SKY at the same time & there was no ITV Hub app on SKY Q  until it's replacement  ITV X launched & became available on SKY Q a little later.

Many thanks folks.  I stand corrected - there are 2 different shows Warplane Workshop on Ch4 repository which is not found and warbird Workshop 2 series on yesterday which is found. Stupid error to have made. Nevertheless the missing C4 app and as far as i can see no way of adding other viewing apps yourself is a shame but agreed the HD box did not do that either.

Wish i could still access the recorded programs on the HD box which i still have but the dish has changed so i guess it wouldn't work to at least get the hd box going for playback only.
