Sky Q new user

I recently 'upgraded from Sky plus HD to Q.

Is anyone else disappointed with Q?

No time when changing channel

No date

Can't change the time the banner stays on screen

The remote is top heavy - difficult to change channel numbers.  Number buttons are in the wrong place and small.

I feel like I've gone backwards on functionality.

HI @Sarah+J+Halsey

Many customers switching from SKY+/HD do feel disappointed or frustrated.

SKY Q was designed from the ground up and by designers and developers probably more used to a Phone/tablet type interface as well as later updates bringing it a little closer to streaming apps

If you use the search function for this board you will probably find a few discussions

It can take a little getting used to.

Regarding functionality, if you haven;t already done so I do recommend look at the Help section from the main meni where there are articles and videos.

One of my personal recommendations to new users is to set up your most channels as favourites which makes navigating to them easier as well being able tto see them together in the TV Guide.

Do feel to ask questions here should you want to know anything specific

BTW Welcome to SKY Q - even if you do feel it is a backward step

Given Q was released in early 2016, is now nearly nine years old and in use by the vast majority of Sky satellite television households then yes, there have probably been a fair few.

Realistically though, nothing about Q design or functionality is now going to change: it's almost certainly in its final few years before satellite television stops broadcasting to the UK.

Also no Reminders or slow motion.

On the other hand, UHD output (from the main box), multiple simultaneous recordings, 'fluid viewing', on-board apps and wireless multiroom boxes.

Re: Sky Q new user

@Sarah+J+Halsey We switched from Sky+ HD  couple of months ago and it does take some getting used to. Found a lot  helpful advice on this forum. Bought silicone covers for the remotes which made them easier to use.
