Sky Q mini issues over mini pushing wifi out at slow speed top trumping main router at way higher

So sky fibre with sky route in lounge ground floor c400meg, also have Q box.

upstairs with sky mini x2 unplugged is around 350.meg

plug in sky q mini, the wifi then only puts out c 15-35meg as the strongest wifi signal upstairs becomes the mini albeit it's way way slower.

due to wiring i can not hard wire with ethernet..

how can i turn the repeater function off upstairs as the main router downstairs covers upstairs with great speed, but gets beaten in terms of signal strength.

help ?

You could try getting one of the new Sky routers which no longer behave as part of the Q mesh. Using minis as mesh nodes is a menu option when the Q thinks it has a 3rd party router. Might have other unintended consequences.

do you need more than 35Mb wifi bandwidth?

What is this new router?

I was thinking of getting a power line to each mini box and then turn off the WiFi feature in mini box

or would that be a problem ?

Might work as long as they can "see" the Q via the router.
