Sky Q mini box connectivity problem after new Wi-Fi Max installed.

I have recently had the new Wi-Fi max rooter installed.     I have one Sky q mini box in the spare  room.      When both devices are operational neither of the sky boxes work, it states connectivity issue.

When  I unplug the the sky q mini box in the spare room the main sky box in the living room works perfectly.

I have gone through the instructions provided in the main website mutiple

times.   Including resetting the sky q mini box from the main sky box.

Every time I reset the sky q mini it works initially for approx 3 minutes then I loose picture and it states connectivity issue.  My broadband connection and Wi-Fi all work.

Is it an issue with the new Wi-Fi max rooter or an issue with the sky q mini box ?

thank you

Hi @Cheekycharlie99

First try resetting your main Q box to your Network.

To reset your broadband router:-

If on Sky broadband hold the Reset on the back of the router until the power light flashes green (about 10 seconds). Don't unplug or switch off your router while it resets. The power light will go green when it's done.
If on 3rd party broadband and your router does not have a reset button, reboot it by disconnecting the power lead for 30 secs and then reconnecting.
Wait until the router is completely back and running and then try a Network Reset found in Q box Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect by WiFi to your router. Even if reset is not listed there is still an option to connect by WiFi to Sky or 3rd party router
If you are on Sky Broadband you will be asked to press the WPS button on the Sky router. (Not on the Q box as the Network reset will start the main Q box WPS automatically). Make sure you press the WPS button on the Sky router and not the reset button.
if you are on 3rd party (non Sky ) broadband then you need to enter the SSID and password for the router 2.4 Ghz WiFi band.

When the main Q box is complete back up and running carry out the following:-

Reboot the main Q box and then when this is completely back up and running reboot the mini.
To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)

note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

Reboot the mini as above.
If the mini still does not connect reliably try a Network Reset on the mini.
Network Reset found in mini Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to WPS with main Q box.
You will be asked to press the WPS button on the main Q box (not the mini as the Network reset will start the mini WPS automatically).

If you are on Sky Broadband and the Router is nearer to the mini than the main box then you can try pressing WPS on the router instead of the main Q box. If you do this make sure you press the Sky router WPS button and not the router reset button.

Failing all of the above you may need a Sky Q WiFi Booster to position midway between your main Q box and the mini and you will need to contact Sky directly.

Re: Sky Q mini box connectivity problem after new Wi-Fi Max installed.

Hi there,  thank you very much for your helpful

tips.  Very much appreciated.

i have worked through all options.     Unfortunately the situation has not been resolved.

The main points I have learned is........

1/.  Both the main sky box and the sky q multi room box do not work together  while on at the same time.

2/. The sky q mini box was working when I pressed the reset button.     However when I put the main box on in the other room it stopped working.

My view is that I need an engineer to resolve this issue.

Thanks again for your very useful hints and tips.

Did you manage to sort this issue, as I'm having the same problem. Was the engineer call out helpful?
