Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had any recent experience of switching from Sky Q to Sky Stream mid-contract and what deals, if any, people have been able to get?
We're in the process of moving house and by the time we're sorted we'll have about 4 months remaining on our Q contract. I know I can get a free home move and have a new dish installed, but I've been thinking about trying the Stream product to avoid any drilling through the walls and being limited in our positioning of our "main" OLED TV.
I currently get a decent-ish discount on Q (20-25%), and when checking the Glass "upgrade" it doesn't provide any offers, just listing everything at full price. From other's experiences, is this likely going to be the same when calling up to discuss the home move and switch to Stream or are Sky more willing to give the new customer offers you see advertised for Stream? I'd also be looking to add 500mb or 900mb broadband to my package, so it would be a bundle.
If anyone is willing to share their experiences it would be great to know what to expect when it gets to the time of calling.
Thanks in advance!

@jonallport really all you can do is to call Sky and see what deals they offer to you if you don't like them then you can always keep your Q contract

Thanks @Laing1. I know everyone's experience will be different and what I get on the day might be different to what others experience, but was just looking for a general feel of how they're currently treating customers who are doing the switch mid contract.

@jonallport I know that @lettice recently changed to Sky stream so they may be able to give you an idea of any discounts that they were able to get

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI did get a good deal moving from Sky Q to Sky Stream.
I called Sky using 150, saying 'Sky Stream upgrade' at the prompt and got through to a UK based team that deal with Sky Stream.
I had good discounts on my Sky Q, with Sky Sports/multi screen ( 1 mini)/uhd/ultimate tv (Netflix). The Sky Stream deal has dropped my monthly bill, with the same as I had on Sky Q.
We have though dropped to the free included with Stream Netflix with ads, rather than the premium we had on Sky Q, but easy on Stream to change that tier month by month via your MySky app.
The quoted prices are higher than you will probably actually pay, so calling will be best as you should get some kind of offer as a VIP customer.
There is currently a good 'GB News Sky Stream' offer that may work or be of interest to you, worth googling.
Check out my move from Sky Q to Sky Stream journey experience.
So far it has been a great move.

I have been trying to swap to Stream online from Q for sometime and when I enter my email address defaults to sky Glass which I certainly don't want. Seeing the link for GB news that was posted this morning, I tried that and again it defaulted to Sky glass as soon as I entered my e-mail. I did notice this offer did not have any restictions regarding exsisting customers so I phoned Sky who said they could not match the price but would raise a ticket to determine why the system keeps kicking me out. I suspect they dont want exsiting customers to move from Q to Stream, I would like to move as I have an original Q box and do not get HDR, having 2 OLEDs this is a pain, and I currently use apple tv's for everything bar Sky. By the way I was trying to sign up to a new 18 month contract not a 1 month rolling one

Thanks @lettice, appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
That's a great deal with GB News at the moment. Unfortunately it's a little early for me to be able to take advantage of. Sky seem to have different prices for the Stream packs every month so I guess I'll just have to hope when I call it's a good month and I speak to a more generous advisor!

Thanks @Roger17.
That's annoying that they won't match the GB News offer, particularly when you want to sign up to another 18 months like I'll be looking to do too.
Did they offer you anything different at all when you did call?

No I didn't get another offer as he admitted he could get nowhere near the GB News offer. He did say he would raise a ticket to determine why I can't access this online and keep being sent to the Glass page which I certainly don't want. Probably just another excuse to stop existing customers accessing good deals. 25 years and counting, I have already cancelled my Broadband with them as they were not prepared to offer a deal, I am now getting 500mb fibre compared to skys 70mb for less money, I suppose loyalty counts for nothing these days.
