Sky Q disconnects from WiFi

Morning. I'm with lightening fibre. They came the other day and installed new booster boxes. Since then the q boxes keep dropping WiFi and I'm having to reset the password every time. Not a signal issue as getting 130 on a speed test next to the box. Any help would be appreciated

@Dominic71 you do realise this is predominantly a customer to customer forum where customers help each other.

Re: Sky Q disconnects from WiFi

So far bought tp/link dec mesh system 2 units  1 main and 1 next main q box as it wireless connection, ordered another for garage/ mans den: i have also ran an ethernet cable from router to garage into a 5 port splitter.

sky q main wirleless mini q direct main on ether net = nothing does not connect

remove cable and do wirelessly connects but slow, hence I have ordered another dec but 1900 instead of 1200, I will use as mains base when it comex.

Can't understand how works wirelessly but not wired, had this rubbish equipment for a month,.

when I spoke to a sky engineer and he said he wouldn't go for Q now I understand that the software and hardware are junk, but like a fool I still went got one,. Then they send you link for site

Can't really understand what you've done there, sorry.

You have a main wifi node (deco I think,

not dec) connected to your router? Over ethernet or does it use wifi to connect to the router?

and a 2nd node near the Q?

Is the Q hardwired into that?

By the way, this is pedantry but it kind of matters - it's not a splitter, the signal doesn't get split or repeated, it's a switch, each port only gets sent what data is intended for that device.

Re: Sky Q disconnects from WiFi

Currently have  2 x 1200 deco m4 waiting for another unit tomorrow 1900 this will become main, main deco is wireless connected to router siits next to router as per instructions

the second deco 25 inches distance from main sky Q

the minu q  is approximately 9 meters away  2 x kingspan insulated walls

i have run a cable from router to mini Q

i have ran an ethernet cable from main w to mini q, the main box has never picked it up

Wireless does connect but can't watch as blocky and slow

Tried resetting ,q to q , wireless which works but crap. I will be giving up soon and return item as not fit for purpose sold to cancel contract and put a claim for the different extenders and cable I have been buying.

I would try deco-router over ethernet (I'm sure they must allow this?) and disable wifi on the router. Otherwise they will probably be treading on each other. Add a Q mesh into that and you have 3 wifi networks all demanding bandwidth.

pretty sure ethernet from Q to mini cannot work. Need a router between to provide IP addressing
