Sky Q communal equipment

A satellite engineer has visited and has discovered the Sky Q equipment that we are all connected to has no light showing. It has power.  Is Sky responsible for replacing this or the satellite engineer?

Hi @Linda273   Communal equipment is the responsibility of the local management committee, not Sky.

@Linda273 do you know what equipment Sky installed was it dSCR adapter as if it was then i'd say yes Sky would be responsible for replacing this.

You would need to contact Sky and explain you are on a communual dish and need a MDU engineer out although Sky should know this

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

hi @Linda273

As the others have said the communal system main power is part of that system and is the owner's of that system's responsibility.

BTW There is one small caveat that some dSCR Adapters need a power boost supplied via the cable - in this case you would have had a small 'power adapter' as well as your SKY Q box but if this was the case the engineer would have known (assuming they were MDU trained)
